Event Description

Obama is coming to Arizona Wednesday. This has been kept quiet and details are just coming out as to the when and where. We have information that he will be in the south area of the Intel campus, but the times were not give out officially. We've heard 3pm and 4:30pm from two different sources. UPDATE: We received an email from an Intel employee that states he is speaking at 5pm. Therefore, to make sure we don't miss the event, we will set it at 4pm (get there early) and will gather on the NE corner of Chaparral and Dobson (SE corner of the Intel property). Parking is going to be a challenge. The plan is, we will park on the residential streets near the area involved.
You can bring signs with the message of your choice. No particular theme needed, just let Obama know how you feel.

We are waiting to hear back from the Secret Service as to whether or not they are going to have that area blocked off. If they somehow close that area, we will update with an alternate area.

DIRECTIONS - On the South 202 Loop, take Dobson South until you get to Ocotillo. Then turn right and head west until it dead ends. Take a left on Dobson and then turn left on Chaparral and find a parking space.

Please correct this! Obama is going to be at the South entrance, the North entrance is just for parking. People are instructed to be at the South area at 4pm, so they should make their way down there. There is a huge open lot at Ocotillo and Dobson, where we can all stand if need be. Obama is coming in from the South, not the north. Don't let people be distracted by the parking. They are bussing them down to the South end of the property.

Comment by Julie Child on January 25, 2012 at 1:40pm: Air Force One is expected to land at Sky Harbor in the 3pm hour. He is expected to speak at 5pm. There are too many homes that cannot be security cleared that back up to Dobson, including an apartment complex. No way he is coming in on Dobson. Look at Google Earth. The road on the west side of Intel is Old Price Road. You can enter that from Queen Creek. Doesn't it make sense that the motorcade will enter Intel from this road? That is what I am banking on and I will be near Queen Creek and Old Price Road with my huge sign saying OBAMA - BAD FOR AMERICA.

I just drove by and the charter busses are already dropping people off, entering and parking. The location to be at is Dobson and Price just to the south. This is closest to all the cranes and construction site.
There is nothing going on at Chapparel. Once you pass Queen Creek, just keep going straight, in turns into Marketplace road, then make a right on Jacaranda and that road parallels Dobson you can park and walk across the street, instead of walking a mile from Chapparel.

Comment by Angi Stamm on January 25, 2012 at 12:24pm: I totally agree I just drove by there and all the charter buses are entering, parking and dropping off at the location where Dobson meets Price road. That is where all the activity is, there is nothing going on at Chapparel and Dobson and you will have to walk a mile - Intel is mega huge.

I think that Obama will likely take the back entrance off of Queen Creek and they will drive along the indian reservation to get in to Intel. Look at it on Google Earth. If you want Obama to see us, you may want to move our location to Queen Creek Road, just west of Price.
